Next weekend my neighbor and I are having a garage sale, and I am going to unload tons of decorative items from the house where I'm living, a little vintage furniture, some china, household items, and some tools and hardware. I had a very hard time writing out price stickers (which is how we are going to keep sorted who sells what), so posted a request on my Facebook page. My neighbor came over and offered to write them out for me. She is a really nice lady.
Yesterday, I also took the NCRC exam, and did very well. The proctor gave me an out, if it seemed that I was having too much trouble using the computer, but I finished each section before the time was up, and adapted quite well, using the mouse with my left hand (surprisingly easy) and only having to write out a couple of numbers by hand for multiple calculations. I was also given a calculator, which helped.
I'm embarrassed to say that I've been using the dishwasher in the house, rather than washing dishes by hand. I hope the energy consumption isn't too great, because it's so much easier. As soon as my hand is back, I'm doing handwashing. One other kind of funny thing from yesterday...I could not figure out how to trim my fingernails on my good hand, so I stopped into a nail salon in Tillamook to ask them to cut them. The manicurist didn't speak English well, and didn't understand what I meant by "clip". Once I said, "cut", we were on the same page, and I got it done. No one knew what to charge, so I gave her $5, and she seemed happy. Have you ever tried to use a nail clipper without a thumb?
