Today, I was given a referral to St. Vincent's Orthopedic and Fracture Clinic, and am optimistic that I will be given the appropriate care. All of it was handled online, including a prescription request, which was unusual to me. I should hear back from either Tillamook or St. Vincent's about scheduling an appointment soon. I am losing some sensation in the tip of my injured thumb, and that is unsettling. St. Vincent's is going to request copies of the X-Rays from Minnesota, and if that doesn't work, they will have to be sent from the Vu Center. Then, new X-rays will be taken at St. Vincent's to compare with the original ones, just to see what has been going on with the healing process. This entire set of procedures makes me feel as if I have been heard, and that I am receiving the care I should have gotten a couple weeks ago.

The story of the fracture of my thumb, adaptation, acceptance, and recovery. The story is being written while I recover, and as I write it, I hope to share and gain some insight.
